CBS 3 and The CW Philly are proud to broadcast the 240th St. Patrick's Day Parade, the second oldest parade in the country. The Parade will be broadcast live, Sunday, March 14th, 12 noon to 3 p.m. on The CW Philly and streamed live for viewers across the country and around the world on www.cbs3.com and the cwphilly.com. The Parade will be rebroadcast on both stations on St. Patrick's Day, Wednesday, March 17th, 9a.m. to 12 noon on CBS 3, and again on The CW Philly from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
CBS 3 and The CW Philly's Susan Barnett and Kathy Orr will host the parade from the broadcast booth at Eakins Oval on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Bob Kelly will report live from the Parade route.
This year's parade will follow the theme of "St. Patrick, Model of Unity for the Church and the World", featuring Grand Marshal Seamus Boyle. This is Philadelphia's largest parade whose participants include marching bands, Irish dance schools, youth groups and Irish Associations.
"Being able to showcase this Philadelphia tradition, locally and internationally, on-air and online is an honor," says CBS 3/CW Philly President and General Manager Jon Hitchcock.
"We will have more than 225 marching groups and 20,000 plus marchers, representing all walks of life from celebrities to the regular guys, newborns to those approaching their 2nd century," says Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade Director Michael Bradley.
"It is an honor and a privilege to showcase this year's parade on CBS 3, The CW Philly 57, and CBS3.com, and we look forward to continuing our long term relationship with our friends at CBS."
The St. Patrick's Day Parade telecast is presented by IBEW Local 98 and your Tri-State Toyota Dealers and sponsored in part by Philadelphia Federal Credit Union and
