After years of training at the Nazareth YMCA and Wilson's Philip Lauer Middle School, the Nazareth swimming team has a sparkling new natatorium to kick off the 2009-10 swim season.
Not just any pool, mind you, but eight-lane digs at the new Nazareth Area Middle School.
"The big pool is 10 times better because we have less people to a lane," said Nazareth standout Kaitlyn Shelly following a boy/girl sweep over East Stroudsburg South in the inaugural home meet. "You're not running into people and you get more work out of it."

Liberty, with two-time Express-Times Swimmer of the Year Patricia Leeson returning for her senior season and a strong group of veteran boys, should be the strongest team in the region behind perennially strong Emmaus and Parkland.
