For the first time since 2005, Nazareth Borough taxes will increase in 2010 by 7.8% according to an article in the Express-Times
While now is hardly the time to be hiking taxes, given the long hold, increased police staff, and costs, it isn’t unexpected, but will be tough for many none-the-less.
The police department added two full-time officers, plus one full-time deputy chief, (going from five to eight full-time) according to the article, and as I recall they also bought new uniforms, computer equipment, had bikes refurbished, and I’m sure there were many other equipment based items.
