Lehigh Valley IronPigs' GM Kurt Landes named International League Executive of the Year

Lehigh Valley IronPigs' General Manager Kurt Landes has been named the International League's 2009 Executive of the Year.Landes, 36, was named the first GM in IronPigs' history on Oct. 4, 2006, after spending five years with the Hagerstown (Md.) Suns.
"Under Kurt's direction, the IronPigs have made a wonderful splash in the Lehigh Valley and the International League," said International League President Randy Mobley. "The organization had a spectacular inaugural season in 2008, but to come back and attract even more fans in 2009 is hard to imagine."By virtue of 26 consecutive sellouts, the IronPigs' attendance reached 641,335 this season, the second-highest per-game average (9,162) in all of Minor League Baseball.
"This is truly a team award that recognizes the hard work, dedication and accomplishments of our entire staff," said Landes. "Our collective effort, coupled with our passionate and loyal fan base, has made Coca-Cola Park the premier venue in all of Minor League Baseball and we are proud of that accomplishment."
