Police officials said today they have issued a warrant for the arrest of the former Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg High School athletic director. Stroud Area Regional Police said Anthony Creece, 39, has been charged with corruption of minors and selling or furnishing alcohol to minors.
Police said the charges stem from an Aug. 29 incident, when they say Creece supplied alcohol to six juvenile females ages 14 to 17 at a sleepover at the school.
Diocese of Scranton spokesman Bill Genello confirmed earlier this week that Creece had been fired, but did not state the reason.
Creece was also the boys and girls soccer coach at the school.
Police said arrangements are being made for Creece to surrender Friday.
Creece coached the Spartans to back-to-back District 11 Class A boys soccer titles in 2003-04.
Creece coached the boys team for 10 seasons and finished his 13th season as the girls soccer coach in the spring.
Creece won three letters at East Stroudsburg University and was an All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference first-team defender in 1991-92 and a second-team selection in 1993. The Warriors won PSAC titles in 1992-93.
