FROM KEITH GROLLER
A double-overtime game at Easton and a triple-OT contest at Allen. A typical night in area boys basketball in this crazy 2013-14 season.
First, a look back at Monday's limited, but entertaining schedule:
Allen 84, PM West 82 -- The best game I've seen this season. The Canaries' Isaiah Palmer and the Panthers' Joe Wiggins were spectacular. They might still be playing if freshman Talek Williams didn't get that putback at the end of the third OT.
Easton 63, Parkland 61 -- Two of the last three Trojans games have gone double-overtime. With Emmaus looming tonight, this was a classic trap game for Parkland, but still this team should NEVER score only 5 points in a quarter and that's what they did in the fourth period. If people didn't know the Rovers' Hassan Greenfield before this game, they do now.
Emmaus 64, Northampton 58 -- Green Hornets came out flat and trailed 19-10 after first quarter, but fought back the way good teams do.
Salisbury 67, Notre Dame-GP 54 -- The Crusaders are really in trouble. The Falcons are really good. Three Salisbury players scored 15 or more led by Eddie Sanchez's 28.
Saucon Valley 76, Palmerton 57 -- Keith Mosher and Mike Kane combined for 44 for the Panthers, who took care of business in convincing fashion.
Moravian Academy 45, Lincoln Leadership 28 -- This was the Lions' second win of the season over Lincoln and their fifth straight win overall. John Donmoyer now has 618 in his storied career.
Pius X 78, LV Christian 31 -- I realize the Royals have to fill out a schedule somehow because they've kept out of a league. But I don't think anyone gains from a game like this. LV Christian didn't score in the fourth quarter.
