ALLENTOWN | The 23rd annual Marine Corps birthday ceremony is scheduled 11 a.m. Nov. 10 at Cedar Beach Park, 24th and Hamilton streets. This year is the 238th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps and the local Marine Corps detachments of Bethlehem and Lehigh Valley will hold the annual ceremony.
ALLENTOWN | A free Veterans Day concert is scheduled 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Lehigh County Senior Center, 1633 W. Elm St., featuring the center’s Big Band. Light refreshments will be served.

BANGOR | The Bangor American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Order of the Elks will hold a Veterans Day remembrance ceremony 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at Memorial Park on Eisenhart Boulevard by the pool entrance.
BETHLEHEM | The Valley Forge Chapter Sons of the American Revolution, in conjunction with the Bethlehem Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, is holding its annual Veterans Day service 10:30 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary Soldier, First Avenue and W. Market Street. Volleys will be fired by the 6th Pennsylvania Revolutionary War re-enactors. A luncheon follows 12:15 p.m. at Blue Grillhouse, 4431 Easton Ave. in Bethlehem Township, Pa.
BETHLEHEM | A Veterans Day memorial is planned for 10 a.m. Monday at the Steelworker’s Korean War Memorial at Third and Fillmore streets.

BETHLEHEM | The American Legion Band of Bethlehem will join the choirs and play at the 8:45 and 10:15 a.m. services Sunday in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem at 2344 Center Street in Bethlehem. Musical offerings will include "Armed Forces Salute," which includes theme songs honoring the five branches of our armed forces, an arrangement of "America the Beautiful" and a the hymn "O Worship the King" for organ and symphonic band.
BETHLEHEM | Bethlehem Catholic High School will host its third annual Veterans Day breakfast 8:30 a.m. Monday in the school cafeteria. Students will accompany their relatives at program, which will feature keynote speaker, Severin Fayerman, Holocaust survivor and chairman emeritus of the Baldwin Hardware company. Fifteen veterans representing the U.S. Navy, Marines, Army and Air Force will attend the breakfast.
BETHLEHEM TWP. | Northampton Community College's Band of Brothers, a student club whose members are veterans, will host a Veterans Day Observance at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Veterans' Plaza in the College's Tribute Garden outside Penn Hall. In case of rain the event will be held in the David A. Reed Community Room on the second floor of the College Center.
BETHLEHEM TWP. | A morning panel featuring current Northampton Community College student veterans discussing their educational journey and how it has been affected by their military service is set for11:15 a.m. Nov. 14 in Room 146 in the College Center. An evening panel of World War II and Vietnam era vets, several of whom have connections to Northampton Community College, will discuss their experiences and their transition back to civilian life at 7 p.m. Nov. 14 in Kopecek Hall.
BETHLEHEM TWP. | A Salute to Veterans will be held 4 p.m. Nov. 10 at Ebenezer Bible Fellowship Church, 3100 Hecktown Road. For information, visit aplaceforyou.org.
EASTON | The Joint Veterans Council, Forks of the Delaware, along with the Easton Memorial Day parade council will conduct its annual Veterans Day ceremony 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Oak Grove Memorial Garden in Upper Hackett Park.
EASTON | The South Side Civic Association hosts a Veterans Day program 1 p.m. Nov. 10 at Hays Cemetery on the city’s South Side. City officials and members of Rice Ebner American Legion Post 588 are expected to attend.
EAST STROUDSBURG | East Stroudsburg University will honor veterans 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Keystone Room in the Center for Hospitality Management.
In addition to a military observance, which will include a three-volley salute adjacent to the Julia statue at the front campus circle, the program will introduce veterans to the educational opportunities available to them at ESU.

NAZARETH | Moravian Hall Square, 175 W. North St., is holding a Spirit of ’45 event 10:30 a.m. Nov. 8, which is being jointly hosted with the Veterans Program of Care Alternatives. Veterans who live and work at the Life Care Community in Nazareth will be honored for their service.
The program will be led by Capt. Nick Cucchiaro. The Nazareth Area High School Chorale will sing the national anthem and the songs of each branch of service. Approximately 50 veterans — residents and staff — will be honored and presented with a hat, flag pin and certificate in thanks for their service to our country. PALMER TWP. | The Palmer Branch of the Easton Area Public Library will have a "Remembering Our Military" program 6 p.m. Nov. 5. Thirteen local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops will participate. The goal is to send our overseas service personnel cards to let them know they are being remembered over the holidays. Everyone is invited to stop by and either sign a card or, for children, design a card. Support the Troops Inc. is led by Blair and Valerie Ferguson, who will cover the postage with care packages in time for the holidays.
U. SAUCON TWP. | The Penn State Lehigh Valley Veterans Club is commemorating Veterans Day 1 p.m. Monday in Room 135 of the campus at 2809 Saucon Valley Road. This year's event focuses on the physical and emotional impact of deployment on military families. The event is free and open to the public. Following current and former veterans of the military sharing their personal perspectives is a Q-and-A session. Refreshments will be served.
WILLIAMS TOWNSHIP | Local veterans will be honored at a service 1 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Veterans Memorial on the Williams Township Municipal campus, 655 Cider Press Road.
Veteran supporter Sue Bulette will offer thoughts for the occasion. Children from the Williams Township Elementary School will pay special tribute to each attending veteran and to each branch of the service. MC for the service will be township resident and veteran John Ansman. Veterans’ representative for the service is Donald Hockman. Melissa Gordon will sing the national anthem.
The program is organized by the Williams Township Veterans Memorial Committee. The public is encouraged to attend.
WILSON BOROUGH | The Northampton County Detachment, Marine Corps League, along with Brown & Lynch American Legion Post No. 9 will render military honors 1 p.m. Nov. 11 on Washington Boulevard at the four war memorials between South 18th and South 21st streets. The Wilson Area High School Drum and Bugle Corps as well as elementary school students will participate.
Free haircut offer
On Veterans Day, customers who come in for a haircut or service at any Great Clips salon will receive a free haircut card to give to an active/inactive/retired military member of any branch, including the National Guard. Military members can also come in on Veterans Day for a free haircut or to pick up a free haircut card to use, with proof of service, any day before Dec. 31.
Great Clips salons are in Lower Nazareth Township in Northampton County; Hanover and Whitehall townships in Lehigh County; and Clinton and Flemington in Hunterdon County.
