FROM MORNING CALL
After falling in a huge hole in its PIAA Class 4A quarterfinal last season, Parkland was focused on jumping out to a better start this time around.
St. Joe's Prep instead pushed the Trojans into catch-up mode early.
The District 12-champion Hawks forced Parkland to punt on its first seven possessions Saturday afternoon while building a three-touchdown cushion. The Trojans moved within two scores midway through the fourth quarter but could not come all the way back, falling 21-10 in a PIAA 4A football quarterfinal at Bethlehem Area School District Stadium.
St. Joe's Prep (10-3) advanced to the PIAA 4A semifinals next week, when it will take on District 1 champion Neshaminy (13-1). Parkland ended its season 12-2, becoming the fifth straight District 11 4A champion to bow out to the Philadelphia Catholic League champion in the state quarterfinals.
