The new Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center building will serve as a hub for state park public outreach in the Lehigh Valley, officials say.
Representatives from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as well as state and local officials unveiled the new building to the public today.
Work on the state-funded $5 million, 9,300-square-foot building along Belfast Road in Bushkill Township began in September 2012. The center had been housed since 1985 in a converted ranch home on Jacobsburg Road and did not have indoor education space.
