Meredith Marakovits, Harold Fairclough among four past stars set to be honored by CCHS

Meredith Marakovits, best known these days as the field reporter for the YES broadcasts of New York Yankees baseball games, will be among the four individuals to be enshrined in Central Catholic's Rockne Wall of Fame on Friday, Dec. 13 between games of a girl-boy basketball doubleheader featuring Dieruff and CCHS.
Marakovits, a 2001 graduate, was a standout volleyball and basketball player at Central Catholic before embarking on her prominent broadcasting career.Marak2 She's seen in photo interviewing Andy Pettitte for YES.
She will be joined in being honored that night by former CCHS football standout and coach Harold Fairclough (below). Fairclough played on the 1993 state title team and coached the 2010 state champions. He is currently an assistant coach at Whitehall. Fairclough graduated in 1995.

Also to be saluted will be Robin Lewullis, a 2002 graduate and a teammate of Markakovits' who helped CCHS win championships in both volleyball and basketball. Central Catholic won the state title in the fall of 2001, her senior year.
And the fourth person to be honored is Jeff Aldinger, a 1992 graduate and a 1,000-point scorer in boys basketball. Aldinger and Andy Stephens led the Vikings to the 1992 District 11 3A title.
In addition, the 2001 state champion girls volleyball team will be saluted as will the 2001 state championship cross country team coached by the late Jack Pressmann.
The girls game will start at 5:30 that night with the ceremony to begin at approximately 6:45 with the boys contest to follow at about 7:45.
