Nick Savant went into Week 5 of the 2012 regular season unsure if he was the starting tailback at Saucon Valley.
When his career wraps up this postseason, the Panthers senior will be mentioned throughout the program record books.
His 333-yard effort last Friday at Palisades is the top performance in school history. It also is third-best in Colonial League annals. Bangor’s Josh Wing had 337 in a 2011 game against Catasauqua and Wilson’s Trey Robinson ran for 405 yards in a 2011 contest against Notre Dame-GP.
Savant’s 1,611 rushing yards this season are fourth in Saucon program history. Eric Kuester’s 1,868 is tops. His 3,115 career yards are second only to Joe Killar’s 3,260.
Saucon Valley has at least one more game as it visits Jim Thorpe in Friday’s Eastern Conference Class 3A semifinal at 7 p.m.
