FROM MORNING CALL
After a seven-year wait, Bethlehem Catholic again took the field for a District 11 football playoff game.
The Golden Hawks will only have a seven-day break between postseason games this time.
A
1-yard touchdown run by Michael McDaniel three plays into Saturday
night gave second-seeded Bethlehem Catholic an early lead against
Lehighton. He added three more touchdowns as the Golden Hawks buried the
third-seeded Indians 34-6 in a District 11 Class 3A semifinal at
Bethlehem Area School District Stadium.
Bethlehem Catholic (7-4
overall) will visit top seed Southern Lehigh next Saturday for the
district title. The Spartans (10-1) advanced with a 27-3 win over No. 4
Pottsville.
