Today's games are postponed by rain, but Pates Park should be bustling again on Tuesday night when the south Allentown facility is still set to host a PIAA semifinal doubleheader.
A 3A semifinal between District One champ Nazareth Academy (the team that defeated Becahi in the quarterfinals) and District 2 champ Valley View is set for 4 p.m.
The 2A semifinal between Dsitrict 3 champ Brandywine Heights and District 2 champ Holy Redeemer will follow at 6 p.m.
Patest Park, celebrating its 60th anniversary, not only hosted more than 100 regular-season varsity and junior varsity games this season, and the Colonial League and Lehigh Valley Conference title games, but also hosted the District 11 semis and finals and now seven state playoff games.
By the way, the West was also postponed today.
The Nazareth Academy-Valley View winner will play either Ambridge or Fort LeBoeuf on Friday at Penn State while the Brandywine-Holy Redeemer winner will face either Riverside or Phillipsburg-Osceola.
