Chuck Bednarik makes Eagles version of Mount Rushmore on NBC Sports Network

As you know, I've been intrigued by Pro Football Talk's concept of establishing a Mount Rushmore for every NFL franchise. Tonight on the NBC Sports Network show, the Mount Rushmore of the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles were revealed.
In the fans voting for the Eagles, the No. 1 vote-getter was Reggie White, followed by Brian Dawkins and then the Lehigh Valley's very own Chuck Bednarik. Then, shockingly, at least to me, Randall Cunningham. That's right Randall Cunningham. Those fans, and there were over 50,000 of them, must be stuck in the 1990s and slept through all of those NFC title game appearances in the 2000s.
Cunningham, who had just one playoff win in his Eagles career, edged Steve Van Buren, Norm Van Brocklin, Donovan McNabb, Andy Reid and Harold Carmichael.
Show co-host Mike Florio came up with White, Bednarik, Reid and Van Buren as his Eagles' all-time final four..
McNabb appeared on the show as a guest and named White, Bednarik, Tommy McDonald and Harold Carmichael as his Eagles Mount Rushmore. Said he was too modest to consider himself for such an honor.
For the Giants, Florio's Mount Rushmore featured Bill Parcells, Lawrence Taylor, Sam Huff and Eli Manning.
The fans voting had Michael Strahan replacing Huff. Taylor, who we hear, will be in the Lehigh Valley to participate in Andre Reed's golf tournament later this month, came up with
The show's other co-host Erik Kuselias put in a plug for the team's late owner Wellington Mara and Frank Gifford. Kuselias also had Reid in his Eagles Mount Rushmore.
They also put up a graphic that showed an interesting comparison between Parcells and Tom Coughlin.
Parcells coached eight seasons with the Giants, had an overall record of 77-49-1, won three division titles, had an 8-3 playoff record and won two Super Bowls.
Coughlin has coached nine seasons in New York, has an overall record of 83-61, won three division titles, has an 8-3 playoff record and has won two Super Bowls. Very, very close.
Good stuff.
Wonder if the Big Ten Network would ever come up with a Mount Rushmore for its football programs and then who makes Penn State's?
They took down Joe Paterno's statue, but really, if they ever put up a Mount Rushmore on Mount Nittany, Paterno's face would have to be up there bigger than anyone else's and casting a large, vast shadow over Happy Valley.
