School officials have little control over the shooter’s actions, but the words spoken in the moments following the threat’s arrival are crucial to what happens next. “Communication is paramount in terms of crisis,” said Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns III Tuesday at a safety conference. “And if we’re speaking the same language, we’re that much more ahead of the game.”
