The Blue Eagles finished at 6-7 last season, but they should be much better this year. The key is filling holes in some key weight classes.
Coach: Dave Crowell (10th season at Nazareth; 28th season overall)
2011-12 overall record: 6-7
Returning starters (Name/Class):
Aaron Bradley, Senior
Colton Miller, Senior
Sage Karam, Junior
Tyrone Klump, Junior
Sergio Ottaviano, Junior
Nic Sevi, Junior
Tyler Tarsi, Junior
Chase Zemenak, Junior
Jordan Gray, Sophomore
Brandon Lance, Sophomore
Other returnees (Name/Class):
Nate Bachert, Senior
Brad Gross, Senior
Nick Burke, Junior
Logan Koch, Junior
Dane Guggenberger, Sophomore
Travis Smith, Sophomore
Promising newcomers (Name/Position/Class):
Brandon Reiss, Senior
Brett Hallman, Junior
Connor Williams, Sophomore
Ricky Fornacari, Freshman
Tyson Klump, Freshman
Season outlook:
Nazareth should be much improved from last year’s 6-7 team that did not qualify for team duals. However, there appears to be several weight classes in which we may not have an experienced wrestler.
Coaches comment:
“We had a good off-season. The coaching staff is interested to see how much we have improved since last year. The atmosphere in the practice room is very good with good leadership from several seniors and juniors.”
