Friday night boys basketball scoreboard featured some surprises

Here's a recap: LVC Parkland 47, Nazareth 40 ... Nick Rindock had 16, Austin Beidelman 14 for the Trojans, who improved to 2-1 overall. Nazareth fell to 1-2. Easton 47, Freedom 45 ... DeVante Queen had 18, but Ezra Gaines was the standout in overtime for the Rovers, who improved to 3-0. Pates fell to 2-1 despite 13 points and 10 rebounds from Derike Chiclana. Emmaus 71, Allen 68 ... Nate Feiertag scored 27 to lift the Green Hornets (2-2) to an overtime win over Allen. Canaries fell to 1-2 despite 16 points by Omar Harrington and 15 by freshman Zay Jennings. Central Catholic 74, Dieruff 55 ... Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman scored 26 points as CCHS (3-0) stormed to a 29-9 first quarter lead and never looked back. Dieruff is now 1-2. Whitehall 46, Northampton 34 .... Tony Bellucci scored 20 for the Zephyrs (2-1) who outscored Northampton 15-3 in the fourth quarter. K-Kids are now 0-3. Liberty 67, Becahi 47 ... Greg Noack and DeShawn Oyeniyi combined for 38 points and 27 rebounds as Hurricanes improved to 2-0 and dropped the Golden Hawks to 2-2 despite 19 by Freddie Simmons. COLONIAL Salisbury 69, Saucon Valley 55 ... Falcons had four players in double fitures in improving to 2-1 and dropping the Panthers 0-4. Bangor 69, Palmerton 28 ... Alex Colton 18, Jeremy Ringland 16 for the Slaters (3-0). Palmerton fell to 0-3, but has a chance at a win when it plays Northwestern on Tuesday. Wilson 61, Palisades 35 ... Gerald Terry 13 for the Warriors, who bounced back from loss to Southern Lehigh and improved to 3-1. Pirates are now 1-3. Northern Lehigh 53, Northwestern 27 ... Josh Eden 14, Tyler Dibilio 11 for the Bulldogs, who get their first win of the season and bounce back from opening-night loss to Bangor. Tigers are now 1-3. Catasauqua 69, Pen Argyl 36 ... Zack Edwards showed he's more than just an outstanding quarterback, scoring 20 points. Catty led 33-10 after one quarter. Roughies improve to 2-1, Green Knights fall to 1-2. Notre Dame 47, Southern Lehigh 31 ... Austin Gregg 10 points in a balanced effort for Crusaders, who improved to 3-1. Spartans fell to 2-2. MVC Lehighton 62, Pocono Mountain East 48 ... Tyler Crum scored 20 as the Indians equaled their MVC win total from all of last year. Indians are now 2-1 after winning just three times all last year. Cards are 1-3. Pleasant Valley 35, ES North 34 .... Marquis Brown 14 for the Bears, who improve to 3-1. North fell to 0-3. PM West 62, Stroudsburg 47 ... Joe Wiggins had 19 for the defending league and district champs, who improved to 3-1. Stroudsburg fell to 1-1 despite 15 by Jacob Battle. OTHERS ES South 60, Wallenpaupack 57 ... First win for new Cavs coach Shawn Munford. O'Neil Holder led way with 15 points. Kingsley Amoakehene added 14. Tamaqua 77, Southern Columbia 74 .... Brett Kosciolek scored 25 points and Adam Frantz added 18 for the Raiders, who won in overtime and improved to 3-0.
