District 11, state football records entering Final Four weekend

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER District 11 football statistician Duke Helm has given us another update on stats and records as we enter state semifinal weekend of this 2012 high school football season. Down below you'll see a complete list of the District 11 stat leaders for this season: Week 14 notes and milestones: State records: Matt Bodamer of Port Allegany (13-0) broke Central Catholic's Brendan Nosovitch's state record for career total yards from scrimmage. Bodamer now has 13,061 yards, while Nosovitch had 12,877 yards from 2008-11. North Allegany will play Clairton this week in the State A semifinal. Clairton currently has a 61 game winning streak, which is a state record. Central Catholic: Colin McDermott of Central Catholic rushed for another 379 yards and 5 TDs against Sellingsgrove to up his District 11 leading totals to 3,121 yards rushing and 40 td's. McDermott only trails Zach Barket of Schuylkill Haven, who had 4,187 yards in 2008 and Austin Scott of Parkland, who had 3,853 yards in 2002 in the District for a single season. His 40 TDs places him in 6th place in the District behind Barket's 66, Scott's 53, Jason Killian's (Schuylkill Haven) 48 in 1991, James Mungro's (ESS) 47 in 1995 and Artie Owens' (Stoudsburg) 41 in 1971. McDermott's career totals stand at 6,301 yards rushing and 84 TDs. He's still in 4th place all-time in the District in career rushing yards, 254 behind 3rd place Cody Remaley of Northern Lehigh, who had 6,555 yards from 2007-2010. McDermott's 84 career touchdowns, puts him in 6th place all-time in the District, two behind 5th place Eric Rath of Pius X. Rath had 86 td's from 1998-2001. James Mungro of ESS (1993-06) is on top of the list with 115 career TDs He's followed by Zach Barket of Schuylkill Haven, Cody Remaley of Northern Lehigh and Woody Petchel of Pen Argyl. Parkland: Parkland's Jarel Elder ended the season with 1,512 rushing yards and 24 total TDs. His yardage puts him in 8th place at the school for a single season. Elder moved by Jim Joseph (1,394 in 1981) and Vince Quigg (1,451 in 1973). For his career stats, Elder totaled 2,906 yards rushing in his career, which places him in 5th all-time at the school, 8 yards behind Joseph. He had 529 yards receiving and scored a total of 49 career TDs (3rd behind Austin Scott's 74 [2000-02] and Sean Bleiler's 53 [1997-99]). Tim Baranek finished the year with 1,129 yards rushing and 1,191 yards passing (7th place at the school). Baranek's 2,218 career passing yards places him in 2nd place all-time at Parkland behind Ryan Brown's 2,659 yards from 1994-96. Pen Argyl: Mike Racciato of Pen Argyl finished the season with 1,406 yards rushing this year, putting him in 5th place all-time at the school for a single season. He finished his career with 2,270 rushing yards and 42 career TDs. Racciato also had 45 career receptions for 622 yards. One Year Wonders: Alex Parker of Catasauqua joins an odd group of area receivers that only caught passes in their senior year. Doug Ogden of East Stroudsburg South caught 46 passes for 875 yards and 11 td catches in 2003. Jeramy Albert of Bangor caught 45 passes for 948 yards with 8 going for TDs in 1999. Matt Walters, also from East Stroudsburg South caught 41 passes for 807 yards for a whopping 18 td's in 2010. Parker ended this year with 37 catches for 714 yards and 13 TD catches. That's an incredible 169 catches for 3,344 yards and 50 TDs combined
