Some milestones in Mountain Valley Conference football

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER Duke Helm, the District 11 football statistician, has just sent out his weekly report and it's full of great info, as usual. In terms of the MVC, this has been a big statistical year for many. After talking to East Stroudsburg South coach Ed Christian on Wednesday night, I agree that the MVC is an improved league this year with at least four teams -- South, Pleasant Valley, Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg North -- capable of winning a playoff game or two next month. Anyway, here's some of Duke's stuff: District 11 passing leader Jeff Krisiak of PM West now has 1,463 yards passing and 14 TD passes (tied with Jon Mangual-2007 for the single-season school record). On the all-time area chart for career passing yards Krisiak (3,832 yards) moved ahead of 9 players in one week up to 28th spot. Those 9 are, Anthony Graziani (PA), Mark Smith (Allen), Andy Shaver (Em), Justin Viscomi (P'Burg), Pat Haney (Beca), Barry Kennedy (Catty), Anthony Gonzalez (Lib), Justin Pacchioli (East) and Terry O'Hare of P'Burg Catholic. Brandon Leap of Pleasant Valley is now the District leader with 15 td passes. Matt Shelter of PM West now has 33 catches this year to break Tim Lofton's (2003) school single-season record of 29. Shelter is also tied with Mike Quiteh (2006-07) for the school career record with 62 receptions. Shelter's teammate Mark McMaster caught his 7th td pass vs Allen this year to break Anthony Avosso's single season td reception record of 6 that he set in 2004. McMaster now has 9 career td catches breaking Quiteh's school record of 8 (2006-07). ... Nico Petrone of ES South tied the school record for touchdowns in a game when he scored 5 against Dieruff.
