Lots of locals are starring on an unbeaten Northampton CC volleyball team

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER Often overlooked, or sometimes unfairly disparaged, the two area community colleges do a great job of giving local kids an opportunity of continuing their academic and athletic careers while they're still figuring things out. And, the tuition costs give the kids a chance to get an education without burying themselves in debt for most of their working lives. I have written a lot about the Lehigh-Carbon Community College and Northampton Community College sports progams over the years and some of them have done exceptionally well. The women's volleyball team at NCC, coached by well-known area baseball coach Adrian Yaguez, has been perfect this season. The Spartans are now 15-0 after beating Division II Harcum College in straight sets on Wednesday night, 25-8, 25-6, 25-16 in Bryn Mawr. NCC has won 45 of the 47 sets it has played this season. This is a strong volleyball area as evidenced by two state championships last year -- the Parkland girls and the Becahi boys. And the quality play certainly extends to the collegiate ranks.
