Bruce Trotter wins latest Groller-Zambelli Challenge

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER Mike Zambelli and me often refer to ourselves as "old Huskies." So, I don't think either one of us was disappointed to learn that Bruce Trotter won the latest round of our challenge. Except that this is Bruce Trotter, Jr., the son of the legendary former Dieruff football coach and Allentown High standout. They both live in New Smithville and Bruce, Jr., a former Northwestern Lehigh football player, said he got some advice from his father in going 10-for-10 on the picks over the weekend. He did much better than me. I was leading Zambelli in the standings, but no more. It was nice to talk to Bruce, Jr., because if you went to Dieruff anytime in the 1970s, and both Zambelli and I did, you have tremendous respect for Coach Trotter. We've had some prominent winners in our contest this year, people like Glenn Rissmiller and Dan Wessner. They're not exactly Obama, Romney or Andy Reid big, but they are prominent names. It's a shame that the contest, like the football regular season, has just a few more weeks left. Here's the Week 9 list of games if you haven't seen them: Central Catholic at Parkland Easton at Whitehall, tiebreaker Emmaus at Nazareth Northampton at Liberty Northwestern at Bangor Northern Lehigh at Catasauqua Palisades at Southern Lehigh Saucon Valley at Wilson Pleasant Valley at ES North PM West at Lehighton
