Longtime Nazareth patrolman fired from borough police department

Council voted 9-0 to fire the officer, who serves as the police union president. When asked for a reason for the firing following the meeting, councilman Jack Herbst said, "No comment." Lahovski was not present at tonight's meeting and did not return repeated phone calls for comment. Police Chief Thomas declined to comment about Lahovski's removal from the department.
