Lehigh stays at No. 16 in one national poll; freshman Knott picks up an honor

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER To my surprise, the Lehigh football team stayed put at No. 16 in the Sports Network national FCS Top-25 poll. I am a little surprised that both Liberty and William & Mary, who both Lehigh and Lafayette will play soon, stayed out of the top-25 after their solid efforts against FBS programs. The biggest rise was made by Youngstown State after it whipped Pitt. The Penguins went from No. 13 to No. 6. The biggest drop was made by defending CAA champ Towson, which went from No. 7 to No. 13. In other Lehigh news, the Patriot League has named freshman receiver Derek Knott from Orlando its first Rookie of the Week. Knott had two catches for 15 yards, including a 19-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown on his first career reception. He also returned two kickoffs for a total of 29 yards. Here's how the Sports Network poll shapes up: 1. Sam Houston State Bearkats (87) 0-0 3985 1 2. North Dakota State Bison (65) 1-0 3947 2 3. Georgia Southern Eagles (4) 1-0 3651 3 4.
