Eachus makes the Chiefs' 53-man roster

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER While I was covering Dieruff-Pocono Mountain East, my e-mail INBOX was exploding with the good news that former Hazleton High School and Colgate University standout Nate Eachus has made the Kansas City Chiefs' 53-man roster. Eachus was an undrafted free agent, but made his presence felt throughout the preseason. He made it difficult for KC, now coached by Romeo Crennel, to cut him. He led Kansas City in rushing with 206 yards on 34 carries, 6.1 yards per carry. He capped the preseason on national television with a solid 99-yard effort against the Packers, carrying 21 times. I know a lot of people in Hazleton and around the Patriot League are very proud of Eachus. Hazleton now has someone else in the pros to root for besides Tampa manager Joe Maddon. I've admired Eachus since watching him tear apart our District 11 teams -- Easton, Liberty and Parkland -- in the 2007 District 11-2 regional playoffs. And I know the wrestling community respects him as well. If anybody can stick in the NFL, it's Nate Eachus.
