Who's going to be honored on the radio's all-area basketball show?

FROM KEITH GROLLER

We hope you will listen in as we honor the "Calling All Sports" all-area boys and girls basketball players, teams and coaches today on our radio show, heard 9 a.m. to noon on AM 1470, the Fox.

If you can't listen to the radio, you can listen online at fox1470.com. And if you can't do either of those things, you can hear a replay of the show by going to the site, type in "Podcasting" as the keyword and scroll down to the various clips from the show.

It's a full show broadcast live from Stooges on Liberty St., near the Fairgrounds, in Allentown.

We are hopeful most of our honorees will be in attendance, including members of the Central Catholic girls basketball team that will play Archbishop Wood in the PIAA 3A quarterfinals later in the day.

We thank Stellar Construction and the people who run the Stellar "Catch A Rising Star" Showcase every July, Frantz Trophies, Stooges and The Morning Call for making this special show possible.

And before we present the names, we issue a reminder that this is NOT the exact same team that will be honored as The Morning Call's all-area team and other major honorees.

Many will be the same, but it won't be exactly the same for a variety of reasons.

One reason is that the newspaper covers a larger area than the radio show. So, for example, there will be a few Mountain Valley Conference players honored on The Morning Call team who will not be honored on Saturday.

Now, who will be honored on AM Hilliard 1470 Saturday morning?

Here you go:
