The Philadelphia Phillies activated relief pitcher Ryan Madson from the 60-day disabled list and sent left-hander Mike Zagurski to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Madson is available to pitch tonight against the Cincinnati Reds. He broke his right big toe kicking a chair after blowing a save at San Francisco on April 28.
Madson filled in at closer when Brad Lidge began the year on the DL. The right-hander is 1-0 with four saves in six chances and a 7.00 ERA in nine games this season for the Phillies.
He allowed one run on one hit with two walks in 1.3 innings in two rehab appearances with the IronPigs. Madson also struck out two of the eight total batters he faced and had a 5.40 ERA.
Zagurski had a 2.35 ERA in 29 games for the IronPigs this season before being promoted on June 22. He threw 5.1 innings in five appearances for Philadelphia, allowing two runs on three hits, while striking out eight and walking three.
The IronPigs have a two-game series at Syracuse starting tonight and it is unsure if the lefty will rejoin the team there or for the two-game set at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starting Saturday.
