Philadelphia Phillies shell New York Mets behind Halladay's 3-hitter

New York Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey entered this afternoon's game at Citizens Bank Park a major-league best 0.69 ERA, a 4-0 record, a 24-inning scoreless streak, and a save from that now-famous 20-inning win over St. Louis on April 17.

At least he still has the save.

Pelfrey may have come into the day with some of the gaudiest stats in the majors, but he left with nothing but a beating as the Philadelphia Phillies chased him with a six-run fourth inning en route to a 10-0 win in front of 45,264 sun-baked fans. The rout ended the Mets' eight-game winning streak, their longest since July 2008.

Roy Halladay tossed a three-hitter to improve to 5-1 on the season.

Shane Victorino hit a three-run homer and Chase Utley went 3-for-4 to pace the Phillies' 13-hit attack.
