Joe Blanton will go for the Phillies when they host the St. Louis Cardinals, the team with the best record in the National League, on Monday night

Good news for the Philadelphia Phillies' injury-plagued pitching staff: right-handed starter Joe Blanton will go for the Phillies when they host the St. Louis Cardinals, the team with the best record in the National League, on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park in the opening game of a four-game series.

Blanton threw 67 pitches in a rehab start Tuesday at Reading.

To accommodate Blanton's return a roster move will be necessary; most likely, left-handed reliever Antonio Bastardo will be sent down.

Kyle Kendrick will remain in the rotation for now and start against the Cardinals on Wednesday.
