Wilson Area High School's Tyler Smith and Liberty teammates Anthony Gonzalez and Jarrod West were named today to the Pennsylvania team for the Big 33 Football Classic.
The annual game against the top players from Ohio is scheduled for June 19 at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pa.
Smith and Gonzalez, both quarterbacks, are committed to Maryland and Pittsburgh, respectively. West is a wide receiver/defensive back who will attend Stanford.
Smith, the 2009 Express-Times Player of the Year, completed 172 of 323 passes for 3,130 yards and 32 touchdowns against 11 interceptions last season for the Warriors, who finished 11-1 and won a second consecutive Colonial League title. He finished his career with 8,035 passing yards, third-most in Pennsylvania history.
Smith also will play in the Team USA vs. The World game on Jan. 30 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
