UNIVISION ANNOUNCING ASSIGNMENTS FOR WORLD CUP ROUND OF 16

Univision has provided its announcers for the Knockout Round of 16 for the World Cup. It starts today with Brazil vs. Chile and Colombia vs. Uruguay.
For USA vs. Belgium on Tuesday, the network will utilize Jorge Pérez-Navarro, Diego Balado and unfortunately Marcelo Balboa who continues to provide some strange analysis no matter what language he speaks.
On Sunday for Netherlands vs. Mexico, Univision will utilize Enrique Bermúdez, Pablo Ramirez and Jesús Bracamontes.

UNIVISION DEPORTES ANNOUNCES COMMENTATORS FOR WORLD CUP 2014 ROUND OF 16

Starting on Saturday, June 28th, second stage matches to air on Univision and Univision Deportes Networks


As we enter the second stage of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™, expectations are heightened and Univision Deportes continues to bring fútbol fans the best coverage live from Brazil.
Starting on Saturday, June 28th, Univision Deportes will broadcast the matches of the Round of 16 phase of the tournament, LIVE on the Univision and Univision Deportes Networks.
Univision Deportes’ team of experts, including Pablo “La Torre de Jalisco” Ramírez, Jesús “El Profe” Bracamontes, Enrique “El Perro” Bermúdez, Felíx “El Gato” Fernández, Luis Omar Tapia, Jorge Pérez-Navarro, and Diego Balado, among others, will be joined by recognized former soccer players who will bring their expertise to the matches with the play-by-play, analysis and color commentary, including:
  • Hristo Stoichkov – Now part of Univision Deportes’ roster, was on the Bulgarian National Team in the 1994 World Cup, finishing in third place, and received the Balon d’Or that same year. He also had a successful career with the Spanish team FC Barcelona.
  • Mauro Camoranesi – Argentinean of Italian descent who currently plays for the Argentinean team Racing Avellaneda and was on the Italian National Team that took home the 2006 World Cup trophy.
  • Pável Pardo – Former Mexican soccer athlete who played with Mexico’s National team in World Cup 1998 and 2006; won two CONCACAF Gold Cup and one Confederations Cup in 1999. Lastly he played with MLS Chicago Fire team.
  • Marcelo Balboa – A former MLS star and member of the U.S. National Team that played in the 1990 and 1994 World Cups, Balboa has been a soccer commentator and analyst since retiring from the field.
  • Ramón Ramírez – Retired player, veteran of two World Cups, 1994 and 1998, where he played in the Mexican National Team.
