Rain washes out Lehigh Valley IronPigs season finale

http://www.mcall.com/sports/baseball/ironpigs/mc-ironpigs-buffalo-0901-20120903,0,1217445.story FROM THE MORNING CALL The IronPigs spent most of the final day of the 2012 season sitting in the clubhouse, waiting for the skies to clear. "It seems we've had a lot of that last year," Ryne Sandberg said on a day that many believe could be his last as the IronPigs manager. Ultimately, Mother Nature won. After a wait of just over 90 minutes, Monday's regular season finale against Buffalo was canceled, bringing an anticlimactic end to a season in which Sandberg and the IronPigs (75-68) unsuccessfully fought to overcome seemingly endless roster upheaval to return to the International League's Governors' Cup playoffs.
