Parkland volleyball team has All-American girls

FROM KEITH GROLLER

Two members of Parkland's state championship volleyball team, Taylor Krause and Kelly Robertson, were named All-Americans by PrepVolleyball.com.

Krause and Robertson are both juniors, just two of 36 11th graders around the country to receive the honor.

The two Trojans were just two of 150 All-Americans selected.

According to the website, to be considered for the list, a player must be among the top players in her state and have demonstrated a “massive impact” on the performance of her team. The list this year is dominated by volleyball powerhouse states California (16), Texas (10) and Florida (9). Six states, including Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Georgia, Michigan and Ohio, had 6 to 7 players each, while Alabama, Arizona and Missouri had five. With four players on the list, Pennsylvania ranked 13th in the country, tying with Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska and Tennessee.

Robertson (below left) is a middle hitter and recognized as the MVP of the Lehigh Valley Conference, District 11 and PIAA tournament. She was The Morning Call's player of the year.

She also was an all-state selection and finished third in hitting percentage in the state and 29th in the country.

The Penn State-bound Krause (bottom left) is a setter and led the state in assists per set and finished ninth in the country in assists. She was an all-LVC and District 11 selection and was named to the PIAA state championship all-tournament team. She was recognized as The Morning Call's setter of the year.
