PIAA BASEBALL LOCATIONS SET FOR THURSDAY

FROM THE MORNING CALL

Salisbury will get to stay close to home for its PIAA Class 2A baseball quarterfinal game Thursday.

Nazareth will make a trek familiar to several area teams for its Class 4A quarterfinal.

Salisbury is scheduled to take on District 3 champion Oley Valley in a 4 p.m. game at Parkland High School, where Nazareth won its opening-round game Monday. Nazareth, meanwhile, will head to Walter M. Stumpf Stadium in Pine Grove to face District 3 runner-up Manheim Township in a 6:30 p.m. game. Danville and York Catholic will play a 2A game at Pine Grove to start a doubleheader.

Parkland won a quarterfinal game at Pine Grove two years ago en route to the 4A state final, where it lost to North Penn. Catasauqua played a 2A quarterfinal game at Pine Grove last year, losing to Bermudian Springs. Pius X also played a Class A quarterfinal at Pine Grove last year, winning to reach the state semifinals, where it lost to Christopher Dock.

Salisbury and Nazareth will be trying to advance to Monday's state semifinals.
