Amy Rogers to be named Notre Dame's athletic director on Thursday

Former Notre Dame-Green Pond softball coach Amy Rogers will be formally introduced as the school's new athletic director on Thursday morming according to a release.

But current AD, Deacon Tony Koury, will still be involved with the athletic program.

Koury, who has been the AD at Notre Dame since 1969, will serve as assistant athletic director. His responsibilities will include evening game manager, assisting in the Alumni Development Office and other duties and projects as assigned by Principal Joseph R. Kramer, Jr.

Rogers has spent the past two softball seasons as an assistant at Moravian College.

Prior to that Rogers guided the Crusaders softball program for 10 years. Her teams went a combined 113-89 and won the District 11 2A title in 2004 and the Colonial League championship in 2005.

Rogers was a standout player herself at Liberty High School and Indiana University. She had been a science teacher at Notre Dame. No word on whether she will continue to do that as well as serve as AD.
