Al DiCarlo's tennis event at Westend is a great idea for a great cause

FROM KEITH GROLLER

Hopefully, you saw the story in our sports section on Friday concerning TV2 sports commentator Al DiCarlo's coaches' tennis event on Saturday at the Westend Racquet Club.

It's called the "I Still Got It" Coaches Challenge and it will include a free clinc for any kids diagnosed with autism. Traci Cyr, the former Notre Dame basketball coach, is the treasurer for the Lehigh Valley chapter of the Autism Society of America and donations are greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Al has done a great job of garnering support across the board and it shows the generosity of the people around here.

Joe Brake of Coca-Cola of Lehigh Valley has donated the drinks, the Allentown Farmer's Market is donating hot dogs, Jeff Wenck of Fast Signs is take caring of the player boards, Neil Curtis is coming out of retirement to work the umpire's chair, and the Westend Racquet Club has been extremely helpful in all kinds of ways.

Al reminded me that it's going to be rain or shine from noon to 4 p.m. The finals will be seen live on TV2 Sports.

Again, it's a terrific event. Kudos to Al and Service Electric for putting it together.
