I don't want to steal any thunder from Darrun Hilliard, but when you have a high profile athlete about to make his college decision, things generally leak out before the announcmeent is made and I have heard in the past few hours from people close to Darrun and close to Villanova, that Darrun will take his talents down to the Main Line and play for Jay Wright and the Wildcats.
If you read the comments from Darrun from the Villanova website on my previous post, you can see his immense interest in Villanova. He loved the place from the time Liberty played in that state quarterfinal playoff game at Nova against Hempfield last year.
I believe Villanova was always the frontrunner. It was just a matter of them making an offer. Once they did, and I have been told that they have, there would be no hesitation.
That may be why this announcement is coming much sooner than expected.
We won't know if we're 100 percent accurate until tomorrow, but I trust my sources on this one and believe it will be Villanova Darrun will be talking about at his 5 p.m. press conference on Wednesday.
Certainly this makes him the Lehigh Valley's highest profile recruit in basketball since Aaron Gray went to Pittsburgh in 2003.
