FROM KEITH GROLLER
The Philadelphia 76ers' Evan Turner is coming to Allentown on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the East Side Youth Center to host a camp called "Funky Feet."
It is being presented by
www.lvbasketballrankings.com with sponsorship assistance from the A-town Throwdown (the boys basketball tournament at SportsFest), the Select Competition Basketball League, the East Side Youth Center Elite program and several other organizations.
The camp is open to boys and girls in grades 3-12 and the cost is $65 per camper (prepaid) and $75 at the door. Campers will be separated by skill and age.
The East Side Youth Center is located at 1140 E. Clair St. in Allentown.
Turner is a former college All-American at Ohio State. He was the second pick overall in the 2010 NBA Draft.
In three seasons with the 76ers, he has averaged 10.1 points per game with his best season being last season when he averaged 13.3 ppg to go with 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.

He started all 82 76ers games last year.
According to an event flyer, Turner will be lecturing, demonstrating and evaluating the campers and stressing the use of proper footwork to gain an advantage on the court. The camp is designed to help all players become more efficient and gain distance without necessarily becoming faster.
All campers will get a T-shirt, and a picture with Evan as well as his autograph.
