Becahi's boys have qualified for districts for the first time since 2007

Bethlehem Catholic's game at Easton didn't mean anything for the Lehigh Valley Conference tournament once Freedom beat Liberty on Saturday.
But the Golden Hawks needed to win to get in the District 11 tournament, and they did it.
Becahi 11-10 has assured itself of its first district berth since 2007.
The Golden Hawks are the ninth team to qualify for what figures to be a most intriguing 3A bracket.
I didn't see a Lehighton score from Saturday, but the Indians have a chance to become the 10th team in the field.

NOTES: Freddie Simmons scored 23 for Bethlehem Catholic. DeVante Queen scored 24 points and Erik Oakley scored 12 for Easton. With this win the Golden Hawks (11-10, 5-9) secure a District 11 playoff berth. Justin Lenzer sank two free throws with four seconds left to secure the victory.
