Nazareth Schools Open Monday, CIT Still Without Power

http://nazareth.patch.com/ FROM NAZARETH PATCH After being shuttered for five days due to Superstorm Sandy, the Nazareth Area School District will be open tomorrow, Nov. 5. The district will operate on a normal schedule. However, power is not restored at the Career Institute of Technology in Forks Township, forcing the facility to remain closed Monday. Students who attend CIT only need to report for their classes at Nazareth Area High School, according to an e-mail alert from principal Alan Davis. With trees still resting across local roads or leaning against utility wires, transportation remains a concern for the district. [The district asks] that all students and parents have patience with transportation. There still are several roads that are closed at this time. In addition, if you live in an area with a road closure, we may not be able to get to your exact bus stop location. Families affected by such road closures should consider an alternate transportation option, if possible. State Road Closures (as of noon Sunday, Nov. 4): PA 191 between Kesslerville and Pen Argyl roads in Plainfield Township is closed due to a downed utility; Jacobsburg Road between Sexton and Belfast roads in Bushkill Township is closed due to a downed tree; Jacobsburg Road between Henry and Belfast roads in Bushkill Township is closed due to a downed tree in utility wires; High Street between Broad and Main streets in Nazareth Borough is closed due to a downed tree into wires.
