Latest EasternPAFootball.com rankings: Where's Parkland?

http://blogs.mcall.com/groller/ FROM KEITH GROLLER I have great admiration and respect for David Mika, Jr., who does a great job promoting Pennsylvania high school football through his EasternPAFootball.com website. I've had Mika on the radio show several times and will probably have him on again this Saturday morning. But I am a little surprised that he doesn't have Parkland listed among the big-school teams in his latest rankings, especially considering what the Trojans did at Easton on Saturday night. Unlike college football, rankings don't matter in high school. Everything is determined on the field and Parkland, winners of nine straight, will get to prove itself there. If the Trojans are good enough to win five more games, they'll be state champs. Rankings, polls and predictions are really more for fan interest and stirring up debate more than anything else. Coaches love to use all of this stuff for motivation because, like I've said before, some of them couldn't motivate a fish to swim without our help. In looking at the small school rankings, I see Catty is among several undeated schools, but I bet no one has the point differential of the Roughies, who have scored a staggering 476 points and allowed just 84.
