Geist resigns as Spartans’ Head Coach

according to the Republican Herald, North Schuylkill head football coach Rick Geist has resigned on Sunday. Geist was suspended for the remainder of the 2012 season for a tirade at halftime during the Panther Valley game, at Lansford, on Oct. 26. North Schuylkill finished its regular season at 7-3, will host an Eastern Conference Class 3A playoff game on Friday night at 7PM. The Spartans will host Wilkes-Barre Meyers. Geist’s 19-year coaching record is 146-66-2. North Schuylkill Athletic Director Jim Gross confirmed that Glenn Geist, Rick’s brother, will coach the Spartans throughout the playoffs.
