NFL Network to Televise 13 Games on Thursday Night Begining in 2012

During his “State of the League” address at Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis this morning, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the the number of Thursday Night NFL telecasts on the NFL Network will expand from eight to thirteen games beginning this fall.

Thursday Night Football will air running from week 2 through week 15. As part of the announcement Goodell pledged that all 32 NFL clubs will make an appearance in primetime next season.

“Adding these games to the NFL Network schedule will give more players, teams, and cities the primetime stage,” Commissioner Goodell said in a press release. “Our fans can now get an early start on the NFL weekend in the season’s first 15 weeks.”

The NFL Network also announced that it will establish a Spanish language version of its NFL RedZone channel beginning this fall.
