One of the more interesting antecdotes in the new book about former Phillies announcer, Harry Kalas, “Remembering Harry Kalas: Wonderful Stories From Friends Celebrating a Great Life” by Rich Wolfe that is for sale in Wawa is told by fellow colleague Andy Musser.
Musser recounts a time when after a night on the town, Kalas called the hotel operator and asked for a 6:30 a.m. wakeup call. The operator replied, “Ok, but it’s 6 a.m.”
I don’t know the sales figures, but it was a great idea to sell the book in Wawa, since most Delaware Valley residents are in there at least once a week.
