Jake Carty pitched a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and Brett Hallman had an RBI single in the first inning tonight to lead Nazareth to a 3-0 victory over Easton in the first game of the Northampton County American Legion championship baseball series at Hackett Park.
Game 2 of the best-of-three series is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Borough Park. Game 3, if necessary, would be played at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hackett Park. Both teams qualify for the Region 2 Tournament beginning Saturday in Boyertown.
