Sunday!

Hi Everybody,

As you know already, on Thursday of last week we lossed a very good Young Person in Nazareth Pennsylvania. My friend Courtney Diacont Passed Away at her home in Nazareth infront of her family.

What is very sad about this is that She was going to Graduate from High School this year in June.

2 Months from now she was supposed to Graduate.

That is what very sad about her death.

I would like to take a few minutes here on my e-mail network and take a look at the Life of my Friend Courtney.

Courtney was in my Yearbook Class in 2003.

She had always helped me out in situations when I was in High School with Courtney.

I still talked to her on Aol Instant Messenger.

It was only 2 weeks ago when I last Talked to her.

At that time, I never knew that would be the last time I will ever talk to her.

Courtney Diacont faced daunting odds. By the time she was diagnosed with colon cancer in December 2005, tumors had spread throughout her body. After a 15-month battle, the 18-year-old Nazareth Area High School senior died Thursday night at her home. Never one to capitulate, Courtney opted for chemotherapy, surgery and radiation in hopes of overcoming the disease. "She was told from the get-go she didn't have a shot," said her father, Charles Diacont. "But she didn't want to give up. "All she wanted to do was graduate with her class and go to prom. It just wasn't in the cards." Courtney, a standout volleyball player for Nazareth, returned to the court in the fall for several games before her illness forced her to the sidelines. Her father said her relentless good spirit and drive were infectious. "She's a unique kid," Charles Diacont said. "Seemed like everybody liked her." Courtney loved flying planes alongside her father. The student pilot could fly a plane before she drove a car. Charles Diacont said she also enjoyed basketball, fishing and canoeing. Courtney is survived by her parents; two brothers, Chad and Samuel; and a younger sister, Margaret, who Charles Diacont said was Courtney's best friend. Charles Diacont said he took comfort from knowing that Courtney's suffering is through. It was difficult to watch her struggle, he said. "(She's) just a kid at the end of the day. You can't stand to see your kids suffer," Charles Diacont said. "It is hard to understand. What can you say about an 18-year-old kid? "She was just a good kid."

A prayer service will be held Tuesday, March 27 at 9 a.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home, 220 Washington Park, Nazareth, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church, Nazareth. Family and friends may call Monday 4-8 p.m. in the Reichel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holy Family Parish Cemetery, Nazareth. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Dream Come True and/or Colon Club, c/o funeral home

AM1400 WEST RADIO IN EASTON PA IS CHANGING FORMATS:

ON APRIL 2ED THEY WILL CHANGE FROM SPORTS TO ALL SPANISH PROGRAMS.

At 9 a.m. Friday, an era in local radio broadcasting came to an end. "On behalf of the entire staff we want to thank you for listening," said Terry Rich, host of WEST-AM's "Morning Show." "Take care everyone and perhaps we'll see you another time," Rich added, his voice choking a bit with emotion.
After 71 years of waking up people in Easton, Phillipsburg and beyond, WEST's dawn show officially ended. Beginning today, the station will change to mostly all easy listening music by satellite feed for one week, according to Rich. On April 1, WEST is scheduled to switch again to its new format of mostly Spanish-language music. Some English programming will remain during the weekends, including "Tempo Italiano" from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Rich, as he has done for about the last five years since taking over as host, began "The Morning Show" about 6 a.m. joined by Sports Director Dick Hammer and part-time announcer and production man Chuck Cannon.
