Raphie L. Weaver, 92, of Bath, formerly of Nazareth, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family Sunday, February 18, 2007 in the VNA Hospice House of St. Lukes, Lower Saucon Twp. She was the wife of the late Wilson Fehr Weaver who passed in 1961. Born September 29, 1914 in Nazareth, she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Maria (DeMarco) Merola. A member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nazareth, she was a member of the Quilting Circle and was a part of many of the sewing projects of the church. She was employed as a machine operator at various garment factories in the Nazareth area. Sewing and family were her life, her hands always busy always creating. Raphie put love into crocheting afghans for family, friends, and church donating afghans to the homeless. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, and collecting words of inspiration. Her family feels truly blessed to be loved by Raphie, who enriched their lives with wisdom, laughter, and spirit. Survivors: Her family includes a daughter, Nancy L. Stout; son, Thomas A. Weaver Sr. and wife Gloria; two sons-in-law Gary Schleicher, and Fred Keim; brother Samuel Merola; seven grandchildren, Carol Weaver and companion Michael Soloman, Thomas Weaver Jr. and wife Cindy, Michael Stout and wife Lisa, Robert Stout Sr., William Schleicher and wife Danelle, Terry Schleicher, and Sharon Horton and husband Timothy; 12 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and their families, and many friends. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Karmen Keim and JoAnne Schleicher, two grandsons, Charles R.W. Stout III and Nathan Keim, brothers Joseph and Louis Merola, sister Frances Fenstermaker, sister-in-law Elizabeth Merola, and two step-brothers, Joseph and Cino Violet. Services: 1 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 in St. Johns Lutheran Church, 200 South Broad St., Nazareth, with a viewing noon to 1 p.m. in the church. Interment, Greenwood Cemetery, Nazareth. Arrangements, George G. Bensing Funeral Home Inc. Contributions: Memorials may be made in memory of Raphie to the church.
