East Stroudsburg South and Pleasant Valley meet next week in what shapes up as the biggest game of the Mountain Valley Conference regular season. The Cavaliers, who beat Dieruff 35-7 on Friday night in Allentown, are 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the league, while the Bears have won five straight after an opening-night loss to Nazareth. PV held off Pocono Mountain East 28-22 on Friday night.
Besides competing for the league title, the Cavs and Bears have solidified their place in the District 11 4A rankings. East Stroudsburg South is No. 1 and PV is currently sixth. Stroudsburg is also in contention, although with two losses the Mounties have lost any margin for error.
