FROM MORNING CALL
n Oct. 4th that felt more like the 4th of July had Dieruff hoping to light up J. Birney Crum Stadium on Friday night the way the annual Independence Day fireworks shows always do.
But all the fireworks in the Huskies' Mountain Valley Conference game against East Stroudsburg South came from a little stick of dynamite on the other side named Niko Petrone.
The 5-foot-6, 180-pound Petrone ran for 174 yards on 24 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns as the Cavaliers snapped Dieruff's three-game winning streak with a 35-7 victory on a steamy night in Allentown.
