It was a quality road win for Catty, which may now qualify as the surprise of the year in the Colonial. I still doubt they can get in the league tournament because Bangor probably won't lose this week against Northwestern and Pen Argyl, and Salisbury and Notre Dame remain a game ahead in the wild-card chase,.and both the Falcons and Crusaders hold the tiebreaker edge on the Roughies by virtue of beating them. But at the very least, Catty figures to be formidable in the very small District 11 2A field, which may feature only four teams the way it looks. Elsewhere in the Colonial, the Notre Dame-Salisbury matchup was a dandy as expected. The Falcons' Tyler Brown and the Crusaders' Tannor Reed both were in the 20s, and there were seven double-digit scorers in the 56-54 Salisbury victory. Tyler Cooperman had the game-winner there with about six seconds left. Southern Lehigh pretty mucheended Palisades' district playoff hopes with a 41-32 win and the Spartans moved to within a game of qualifying themselves. Wilson clinched a tournament spot with its 59-43 win over Saucon Valley; Northwestern collected its seventh win of the year, beating Palmerton 55-44 and Northern Lehigh routed Pen Argyl 50-21 in a game in which the Green Knights had just one point in the first quarter and 13 points through three.
