FROM KEITH GROLLER

This could be the Saturday of the mismatch.
Vegas is looking at some very lopsided games on Saturday with record-breaking point spreads.
According to RJ Bell of Pregame.com, UCLA, Ohio State and Miami have never been favored by margins like they're favored this week.
UCLA is a 42-point favorite over New Mexico State (prior biggest: -41 vs. Cal State Fullerton in 1992)

Ohio State is a 50-point favorite over Florida A&M (prior biggest: -44 vs. Eastern Michigan in 2010)

Miami (of Fla.) is a 60-point favorite over Savannah State *prior biggest: -59 vs. Temple in 1993)

Miami-FL this week is only the third spread of -60 or above in recorded CFB spread history (since 1980)
The other two:
9/8/2012: Florida St -65 vs. Savannah St
9/1/2007: Hawaii -60 vs. Northern Colorado.
Also from RJ Bell:
NFL:

Seattle favored by 20-points hosting Jacksonville.
Only 11th team to be favored by 20 or more since 1978.
Underdogs getting 20 or more points have COVERED 8 straight times.
2007 Patriots accounted for FOUR of the prior ten 20+ point favorites.
Except for the Brady-lead Patriots, the last 20-point favorite was in 1993!

$100 on Jacksonville to win the game pays $2,500.

$100 on Jacksonville AND Oakland (15-point underdogs to Denver) to BOTH win pays $31,200!

Alabama favored by 3 against Oregon
LOOK BACK AT LAST WEEKEND:
The average sportsbook on the Las Vegas strip took approximately SIX TIMES the action on the Mayweather fight than any football game this weekend.

The unlikely Mayweather win by “majority” decision paid 21/1 ($100 won $2,100)

Late Texas A&M touchdown was a big LOSS for bettors.
According to sportsbook boss Jay Kornegay, Texas A&M’s late touchdown resulted in an estimated $5,000,000 ($5 Million) NEGATIVE SWING for bettors.

Akron was a 36-point underdog against Michigan.
$100 on an Akron to win would have paid upwards of $19,500.
An Akron win would have been the 4th biggest upset in recorded point spread history.
The biggest upset: Stanford +38.5 over USC in 2007.
